This workshop is designed for both people without previous art experience and artists interested in exploring a new medium. Participants will create an abstract collage on a 12″ x 12″ wood panel. They will choose papers from a wide collection of hand-painted, patterned and vintage images or abstract shapes and patterns. The goal is to provide a non-judgmental and supportive setting where participants can challenge themselves to respond intuitively to their art and unleash their creativity. We will discuss materials, composition and abstraction, and participate in a group share at the end of the workshop. This class is one of Catherine’s 3-part series, but it can also be taken on its own. Other classes include gel plate printing, create your own collage papers, collage compositions, and mixed media techniques on collage.
