In this workshop, collage artist Catherine Cruz will focus on the basics of composition and abstract collage design. This class is appropriate for people with no previous art experience as well as artists interested in exploring a new medium.

Participants will learn how to select papers and start a collage, understand the elements of composition and practice several exercises for different types of composition. They will leave with several small collages on paper or canvas panel.

Required materials: Liquitex matte medium, Glue stick, Scissors, Nylon paint brush, flat 1”, Empty plastic container 32 oz for water, Collage papers with various colors, patterns, textures, and images.

Materials provided by instructor: supports for collage and additional collage papers.
